Description
Snoring and sleep apnoea are two of the most common frequent nocturnal breathing problems which profoundly disrupt sleep, reducing its quality and can have a negative impact on overall health. They manifest themselves as partial or complete obstruction of the upper respiratory tractleading to irregular or noisy breathing, frequent awakenings, chronic fatigue and associated cardiovascular problems.
SomnoFit® mandibular advancement orthosis positions the lower jaw slightly and precisely forward, effectively clearing the space behind the tongue and freeing the upper airways. The simple yet effective mechanical action of the device prevents soft tissue from vibrating and significantly reduces snoring and apnoea episodes.
Regular use of the SomnoFit offers fast, lasting results thanks to more fluid, natural breathing. You'll soon notice a marked reduction in snoring, as well as fewer interruptions in breathing and more natural breathing. general improvement in respiratory comfort. The result is deeper sleep, better physical and mental recovery, and less fatigue during the day.

Instructions for use
Adapting the orthosis to your jaw
1- Place the temperature indicator in a saucepan filled with 7 to 8 centimetres of cold water and bring the water up to temperature. Stop the heat source when the centre of the temperature indicator turns from green to red (optimum temperature).
Leave the gutter greater than 3 minutes in hot water.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave gutters in boiling water.
It is important to limit the time between removal from the pan and taking the impression to 10-15 seconds.
2- Stand in front of a mirror. Using a spoon, remove the mouth tray from the hot water and shake it to remove the water. Insert the tray, aligning the black vertical line between the two upper central incisors. Make sure the tray is aligned with the entire dentition, bite down hard and press the front of the tray against the side of the teeth with your fingers. Release the pressure from your teeth and rinse your mouth with cold water. Leave to cool in the mouth for 2 minutes.
3- Repeat the same operation described in 1 for the lower gutter.
However, please observe the following instructions:
- Keep the upper mouthpiece in your mouth.
- Align the black line on the lower gutter with the black line on the upper gutter.
4- Use a cutter or pair of scissors to remove the strip marked +6. Keep the other strips.
5- Attach the flexible strip to the fastening hooks on the upper gutter. The marking must be visible from the outside. Then fix the strip to the hooks on the lower gutter.
Maintenance, service life, warranty
In the morning, remove the brace, clean it with a toothbrush and place it in a container of lukewarm water throughout the day with a tablet of anti-bacterial denture descaler. Rinse with clean water before placing it back in the mouth overnight.
The lifespan of the brace depends on maintenance, acidity in the mouth and teeth clenching (bruxism). The device is guaranteed only in the event of a manufacturing defect.
- Check the condition of the brace daily.
- The orthosis must be changed if any cracks, breaks or deterioration of the material appear.
The effectiveness of the device depends on the anatomy of the user. In the event of sleep apnoea, a check by a specialist is recommended.
Advice
Quality of the dental impression
The comfort and fit of the trays depend on the shape of your teeth, the number of teeth and the quality of the impression taken. Check that the shape of your teeth is correctly imprinted in the tray and, if this is not the case, repeat the impression, taking care to ensure that the temperature is correct and that you apply sufficient force to shape the appliance.
Any awkward parts of the thermoforming material can be cut away.
Any other modification to the device is strictly prohibited.
Adjustment of mandibular advancement using flexible bands
During the first few nights, the user must get used to wearing the device and we initially recommend using the +6 band. This figure represents the advancement in mm of the lower jaw compared to the normal position without the device. Depending on the morphology of the teeth, the actual advancement value may vary.
After a few nights of adjustment, adjust the setting according to the following principles:
- If the jaw pull is too strong and uncomfortable, use a lower value band (for example +4.5 instead of +6).
- If the hum does not decrease sufficiently, use a higher band value (e.g. +7.5 instead of +6). In general, an advance of 4.5 to 7.5 mm is sufficient.
Keep away from light.
At the end of its life, dispose of the device in the bin.
